- Layout Differences The first thing you’ll notice is the layout. It shows multiple posts at once—on various topics. On TikTok, posts tend to be similar back-to-back, Xiaohongshu exposes you to a wider variety of content.
- 3 main sections Follow: Posts from people you follow. Explore: Content the algorithm thinks you’ll like, organized by topics. Nearby: Posts from your local area
- Content Types There are two types of posts: Text-only posts (great when you can’t watch videos). Short videos (similar to TikTok but mixed in). Text posts have a limit of 1,000 Chinese characters, but in English, two words count as one Chinese character.

Some features are currently unavailable and keep displaying: ‼️Function Upgrade, Not Open‼️ - After checking some fellow creators’ posts, I found that the general solution is:
Download the APK from the website
Update through your phone’s native app store
Personally, I don’t recommend using the APK method, so I chose the latter option.
To my surprise, the issue was resolved in seconds.
